Enéas Veiga charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Enéas Veiga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Pinhais F C getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Enéas Veiga hit a great ball. Brasilia's Ricardinho Prado got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hortêncio Cardoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardinho Prado, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. 11 minutes into the match, Pinhais F C's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardinho Prado came free, but Hortêncio Cardoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pinhais F C's goalkeeper Hortêncio Cardoso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 15th minute Ronaldão Figueiredo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hortêncio Cardoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Brasilia's Ronaldão Figueiredo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hortêncio Cardoso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ronaldão Figueiredo in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hortêncio Cardoso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Pinhais F C's Hugo Carioca got a free kick in the 29th minute. 33 minutes into the game, Ricardinho Prado cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Hortêncio Cardoso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hortêncio Cardoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronaldão Figueiredo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ricardinho Prado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frederico de Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Pinhais F C players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Brasilia were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frederico de Amaral stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52ndth minute of the game Aníbal Siqueira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Brasilia's Jefferson Santos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hortêncio Cardoso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ricardinho Prado in the 57th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ronaldão Figueiredo in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hortêncio Cardoso saved Pinhais F C from getting behind. 60 minutes into the match, Pinhais F C's goalkeeper Hortêncio Cardoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ricardinho Prado. After having played for 64 minutes, Ricardinho Prado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brasilia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ricardinho Prado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 65 minutes into the game, Ronaldão Figueiredo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Hortêncio Cardoso. Ronaldão Figueiredo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Jefferson Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frederico de Amaral in the 69th minute of the match. 71 minutes into the match, Brasilia's goal looked a bit too open when Aníbal Siqueira came free, but Jefferson Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Aníbal Siqueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th minute, one of Pinhais F C:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Pinhais F C. When the match had been going on for 97 minutes, Brasilia's Carlos Eduardo Sousa got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Hortêncio Cardoso. The Brasilia supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Brasilia would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
