Samuca de Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kaká Pinheiro having to interfere. Mauro Mineiro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Raphael Fonseca went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wiliam Donatello in the 24th minute of play forced Atlético BR's goalkeeper Kaká Pinheiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 32 minutes into the game, Raphael Fonseca recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Mauro Mineiro. Márcio Varela could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Mauro Mineiro made a huge save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wiliam Donatello to make the kick off. Macacos's Wiliam Donatello got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
