The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Caetano Eger in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thomás de Azevedo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Faca na Caveira FC's Alexandre Bueno quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Leonardo Teles, made in the 14th minute of the game. In the 15th match minute, Mesquita Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Francisco de Salles to maneuver through the defense. In the 19th minute Caetano Eger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomás de Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thomás de Azevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caetano Eger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Caetano Eger might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thomás de Azevedo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Breno de Sena was the one to do the kick off.
