The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but André Luís Toscano showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Cussauro Mz booed when OFF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benê Ramalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nilmar Tróia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nilmar Tróia struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. André Luís Toscano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cussauro Mz. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Umberto Quintal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cussauro Mz's supporters rose to their feet, but Umberto Quintal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. André Luís Toscano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Nilmar Tróia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Umberto Quintal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without André Luís Toscano having to make a save. In the 32ndth minute of the game Umberto Quintal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but OFF's André Luís Toscano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Umberto Quintal scored 1-1 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of André Luís Toscano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Cussauro Mz getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Zé Roberto Carioca hit a great ball. When Manoel Botelho came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the OFF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manoel Botelho couldn't finish the play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 69th minute, Nilmar Tróia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, OFF's Benê Ramalho got a free kick in the 74th minute. A hard shot 75 in the game by Umberto Quintal from a close distance when the talented André Luís Toscano managed to make a qualified save. OFF's players were relieved. With a little luck, OFF's André Luís Toscano got control of the ball when Nilmar Tróia tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nilmar Tróia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
