Alfredinho Dias made a great header on Arcangelo's corner, it was just that Marreco FC's Luciano Leão managed to reach the ball for a save. Adriano Mazza kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Manuel Novaes got free with Luciano Leão in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Marreco FC's Leonardo Velasco got a free kick in the 12th minute. Manuel Novaes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 18 minutes, Adriano Mazza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marreco FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adriano Mazza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luís Guilherme Borges in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luciano Leão saved Marreco FC from getting behind. Adriano Mazza scored 0-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gerson Baiano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 29th minute, Alfredinho Dias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luís Goiano hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Manuel Novaes got free with Luciano Leão in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After the first half Marreco FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Betão Matorin to strike the kick off in the second half. If Manuel Novaes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Guilherme Borges in the 54th minute of play forced Marreco FC's goalkeeper Luciano Leão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th minute, Leonardo Velasco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Marreco FC's zone, Manuel Novaes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luciano Leão came out of the goal and Manuel Novaes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adriano Mazza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gerson Baiano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. In the 68th minute, Luís Guilherme Borges ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luciano Leão was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Aloísio Rodrigues kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gerson Baiano. That made the score 1-2 in the 72 minute of play. Filipe Prestes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Leonardo Velasco charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leonardo Velasco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Marreco FC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Leonardo Velasco hit a great ball. Manuel Novaes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Luciano Leão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luciano Leão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Guilherme Borges in the 88th minute of play. Leonardo Velasco hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Luís Guilherme Borges's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luciano Leão was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. Luís Guilherme Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adriano Mazza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Gerson Baiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
