If Valdo Félix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the match clock showed 18 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Valdo Félix sped through Independente's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Michel Varela. Pãfzinho's Fiori Soeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Régis Neves in the 29th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Valdo Félix managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pãfzinho's supporters rose to their feet, but Valdo Félix was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Michel Varela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Pãfzinho booed when Independente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leandro Velloso didn't get a good kick on the ball. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pãfzinho reached it. Michel Varela came out of the goal in the 97th minute to try and stop a shot by Pãfzinho's Valdo Félix. But to his dismay, Valdo Félix quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Pãfzinho fully deserved thier win.
