C.'s João Proença sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Claudinei Terra narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Santa Cruz's defense didn't have a chance, in the 27th minute, when Luiz Luz scored to the left of an out of position Claudinei Terra, making the score, 2-0. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Rockefeller F. C.'s goalkeeper Jaime Ceresso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Edmílson da Silveira succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-0 in the 33rd playminute. In the 37th match minute, Santa Cruz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amadeu Miranda to maneuver through the defense. Luiz Luz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Claudinei Terra made a huge save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luiz Luz to make the kick off. After some careless play in the Santa Cruz defense, Edmílson da Silveira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Claudinei Terra. The Santa Cruz fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Claudinei Terra should have stopped the shot. 55 minutes into the game, Luiz Luz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rockefeller F. C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santa Cruz the free kick. After a rather tough play, Rockefeller F. C.'s Tiaguinho Luz got a free kick in the 58th minute. Jaime Ceresso had great luck who in the 60thth minute grab hold of the ball when Amadeu Miranda from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. In the 61st match minute, Rockefeller F. C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomás Brasil to maneuver through the defense. During the 64th minute of the match Virgílio da Mata completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Virgílio da Mata a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. 68 minutes into the game, Luiz Luz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Claudinei Terra was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. João Proença sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Claudinei Terra stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luiz Luz's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. The supporters of Rockefeller F. C. booed when Santa Cruz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amadeu Miranda didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match clock showed 78 minutes, the score became 6-0 when Luiz Luz sped through Santa Cruz's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Claudinei Terra. If Osvaldinho Domingues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. João Proença took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Claudinei Terra. Claudinei Terra dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. Edmílson da Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinei Terra having to interfere. Claudinei Terra stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luiz Luz's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Proença in the 93rd minute of play forced Santa Cruz's goalkeeper Claudinei Terra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Proença took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Claudinei Terra. Claudinei Terra dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-0. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Rockefeller F. C. had played much better football throughout.
