Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Benedito Domingues got the match started through his kick off. Telmo de Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. João Carlos Tróia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Usina da Tijuca F.C.'s zone, Benedito Domingues stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Danilo Severo came out of the goal and Benedito Domingues tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Danilo Severo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilson Barral in the 6th minute of play. Danilo Severo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gilson Barral went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Telmo de Andrade's late challenge caught a Cavalaria FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Telmo de Andrade helped the player get up and apologised. Telmo de Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Telmo de Andrade recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Reginaldo Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. João Carlos Tróia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. João Carlos Tróia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reginaldo Araújo in the 20th minute of play. Donato Loyola hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Cavalaria FC's João Paulo das Neves tried to score from far away in the 23rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Emerson França kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Gilson Barral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danilo Severo having to interfere. In the 28th minute, Telmo de Andrade ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. João Carlos Tróia was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After 34 played minutes Cavalaria FC got a freekick which was hit by Virgílio Sampaio. In the 35th minute, Emílio de Amaral sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Cavalaria FC's João Carlos Tróia didn't even have to move. After a rather tough play, Cavalaria FC's Nestor Coutinho got a free kick in the 41st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Cavalaria FC's zone, Reginaldo Araújo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Carlos Tróia came out of the goal and Reginaldo Araújo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. João Carlos Tróia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reginaldo Araújo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Reginaldo Araújo to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Reginaldo Araújo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Usina da Tijuca F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Reginaldo Araújo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 56 minutes into the match, Usina da Tijuca F.C.'s goalkeeper Danilo Severo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gilson Barral. 58 minutes into the game, Telmo de Andrade cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. João Carlos Tróia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Reginaldo Araújo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Carlos Tróia having to interfere. When the match clock showed 66 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Reginaldo Araújo sped through Cavalaria FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of João Carlos Tróia. Usina da Tijuca F.C.'s Danilo Severo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Usina da Tijuca F.C. from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Cavalaria FC booed when Usina da Tijuca F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emerson França didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benedito Domingues recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gilson Barral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Reginaldo Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. João Carlos Tróia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Reginaldo Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reginaldo Araújo struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. João Carlos Tróia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Usina da Tijuca F.C.. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Telmo de Andrade in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck João Carlos Tróia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Reginaldo Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 97 minutes, Erik Mazza mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Usina da Tijuca F.C. and the Cavalaria FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 97th minute, Erik Mazza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Usina da Tijuca F.C.'s supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
