The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 10 played minutes Cavalaria FC got a freekick which was hit by Fiori Palmeira. João Pedro Goiano received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. João Carlos Tróia came out and tried to block the shot, but João Pedro Goiano slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 10th minute. Almir Romero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cavalaria FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 25th minute, when Almir Romero scored to the left of an out of position João Carlos Tróia, making the score, 2-1. João Pedro Goiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Carlos Tróia having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, Cavalaria FC's goal looked a bit too open when João Pedro Goiano came free, but João Carlos Tróia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. João Pedro Goiano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. João Pedro Goiano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. João Carlos Tróia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. João Carlos Tróia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Pedro Goiano, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. João Pedro Goiano was the one to do the kick off. Fábio Cearense yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, João Pedro Goiano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Conchas's supporters rose to their feet, but João Pedro Goiano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Carlos Tróia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Conchas's Almir Romero got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 65 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cavalaria FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Almir Romero was slow to take the kick. During this time Conchas's players had a chance to rest. Gilvan Fernandes hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Fábio Cearense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benedito Domingues, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. João Carlos Tróia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of João Pedro Goiano's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, João Pedro Goiano put it in 4-2 from a short distance just to the right of João Carlos Tróia. João Pedro Goiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Carlos Tróia having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Pedro Goiano in the 89th minute of play forced Cavalaria FC's goalkeeper João Carlos Tróia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
