Spectators: 6665 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1665, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Aírton Luz got the match started through his kick off. Patrick da Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Belmiro Meireles in the 7th minute of play. São Paulo's Tomé Rosado got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Itaoca's zone, Tomé Rosado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Basílio Vides came out of the goal and Tomé Rosado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Belmiro Meireles in the 29th minute of play forced São Paulo's goalkeeper Patrick da Rocha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Patrick da Rocha came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Itaoca's Belmiro Meireles. But to his dismay, Belmiro Meireles quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Ernesto Vides hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. After 43 played minutes São Paulo got a freekick which was hit by Eugênio Valladares. Patrick da Rocha came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Itaoca's Belmiro Meireles. But to his dismay, Belmiro Meireles quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. The São Paulo players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Itaoca were winning 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomé Rosado made a kick off. Itaoca's Aírton Luz got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomé Rosado in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Basílio Vides prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Zé Paulo de Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basílio Vides having to interfere. Vicente Travassos hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Carlos Eduardo Gerber's late challenge caught a São Paulo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlos Eduardo Gerber helped the player get up and apologised. Carlos Eduardo Gerber kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Francisco Mineiro kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Ramiro Maranhense lost his temper 78 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in São Paulo fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 78th minute. Penalty! 84 minutes into the match, São Paulo's goal looked a bit too open when Aírton Luz came free, but Patrick da Rocha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Belmiro Meireles came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Itaoca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Belmiro Meireles couldn't finish the play. Aírton Luz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrick da Rocha having to interfere. São Paulo's Patrick da Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aírton Luz in the 89th minute of play. Belmiro Meireles in the 93rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Patrick da Rocha, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Zé Paulo de Souza managed to get in a good position for a shot. São Paulo's supporters rose to their feet, but Zé Paulo de Souza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Basílio Vides breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vicente Travassos hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. Patrick da Rocha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aírton Luz, who was totally free with the ball in the 100th minute.
