Didi Capixaba in the 20thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Emerson de Amaral, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Pedro Pires in the 22nd minute of play forced Jequitahy SC's goalkeeper Nelsinho Lopes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 23 minutes into the match, Crobas FC's goalkeeper Emerson de Amaral had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gilvan Proença. Gilvan Proenças short, quick shot in the 24thth minute got Emerson de Amaral to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Crobas FC's Emerson de Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beto Pirani in the 30th minute of play. Crobas FC's Emerson de Amaral proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Crobas FC from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Álvaro Torres took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Emerson de Amaral to make any attempt to save it. In the 35th minute, Enio Tande hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Emerson de Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beto Pirani in the 36th minute of play. Gilvan Proença's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 38thth minute, Emerson de Amaral skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The audience was convinced that Álvaro Torres's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emerson de Amaral was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. The supporters of Crobas FC booed when Jequitahy SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aírton Hermes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rafinha Valle did an outstanding performance 42 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 1-1 to the right of an irritated Nelsinho Lopes in the goal. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind Jequitahy SC's goalkeeper Nelsinho Lopes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tony Gonçalves stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Beto Pirani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 54 minutes of play, Jequitahy SC's Gilvan Proença made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Emerson de Amaral was left in no man's land by his defense there! Beto Pirani hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Emerson de Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilvan Proença, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Renato Rosado's late challenge caught a Jequitahy SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Renato Rosado helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Crobas FC getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Renato Rosado hit a great ball. 79 minutes into the match, Crobas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gilvan Proença came free, but Emerson de Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Enio Tande had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Emerson de Amaral stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gilvan Proença's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Beto Pirani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Emerson de Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tony Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Crobas FC's Emerson de Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilvan Proença in the 97th minute of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
