After 10 minutes, Elder Brasil mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Falcão Negro Sport Clube and the Falange Vermelha RS players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Falcão Negro Sport Clube fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 9th minute. Penalty! Falange Vermelha RS's Fernandinho Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fausto Sousa in the 22nd minute of play. Fernandinho Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fausto Sousa in the 23rd minute of play. Victor Fernandes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 26 minutes, Fausto Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Falcão Negro Sport Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fausto Sousa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fernandinho Reis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Fernandes, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Dadá Palmeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chiquinho Medeiros having to interfere. In the 32nd match minute, Falange Vermelha RS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armando Zanette to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dadá Palmeira in the 43rd minute of play forced Falcão Negro Sport Clube's goalkeeper Chiquinho Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44th minute, Victor Fernandes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fernandinho Reis was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fausto Sousa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience held their breath when Hamílton Mesquita in the 80th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Chiquinho Medeiros's left hand side. Angelo Paranaense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Chiquinho Medeiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angelo Paranaense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Falange Vermelha RS's defense didn't have a chance, in the 89th minute, when Fausto Sousa scored to the left of an out of position Fernandinho Reis, making the score, 1-2. Bebeto Novaes kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Dadá Palmeira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Chiquinho Medeiros having to make a save. The Falcão Negro Sport Clube players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
