Rafa Favoretto's late challenge caught a Toltz Paulista's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Claudinei Tróia hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. João Mineiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dadá Palmeira in the 45th minute of play. Vivaldo Corrêa scored 1-1 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fernandinho Reis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dadá Palmeira to strike the kick off in the second half. Toltz Paulista's João Mineiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angelo Paranaense in the 54th minute of play. Silvinho Rosado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vivaldo Corrêa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 64 played minutes Falange Vermelha RS got a freekick which was hit by Váldson Miranda. If Marcel Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vivaldo Corrêa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Luís Eduardo Batista came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Toltz Paulista fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Eduardo Batista couldn't finish the play. Vivaldo Corrêa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Fernandinho Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 78 minutes into the match, Vivaldo Corrêa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fernandinho Reis. Falange Vermelha RS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vivaldo Corrêa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. During the 89th minute of the match Hamílton Mesquita completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Hamílton Mesquita a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In a very dangerous position, a player in Falange Vermelha RS fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 88th minute. Penalty! Vivaldo Corrêa placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Remo Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as João Adolfo Fernandez kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Fernandinho Reis. That made the score 1-3 in the 97 minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Toltz Paulista left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Falange Vermelha RS.
