But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodrigo Mineiro couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Canoeira's Luís Fernando Correia got a free kick in the 9th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pedro Luiz Pirani in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hortêncio Bezerra saved Gargau from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nuno Pinho in the 27th minute of play forced Canoeira's goalkeeper Duda Passos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Canoeira getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Rui Cunha hit a great ball. Pedro Luiz Pirani kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Duda Passos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nuno Pinho in the 43rd minute of the match. Rony Aparecido charged in rather forcefully in the 48th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rony Aparecido the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Gargau booed when Canoeira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rony Aparecido didn't get a good kick on the ball. Duda Passos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Nascimento in the 49th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nuno Pinho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Duda Passos made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Cleiton Marquez sent off a good shot on target. Cleiton Marquez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Duda Passos made a huge save. In the 58thth minute of the game Ezequiel Pinho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gargau's Hortêncio Bezerra was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cleiton Marquez made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 64thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Duda Passos would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. In the 65th minute Ezequiel Pinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hortêncio Bezerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rodrigo Mineiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Hortêncio Bezerra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ezequiel Pinho in the 73rd minute of the match. With a little luck, Canoeira's Duda Passos got control of the ball when Cleiton Marquez tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gargau's Cleiton Marquez got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 86 minutes into the match, Canoeira's goal looked a bit too open when Nuno Pinho came free, but Duda Passos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
