The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rafinha Mendes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Augusto de Barros, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. When São Vicente FC's Augusto de Barros in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 20thth minute of the game Umberto Paulista who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but São Vicente FC's Rafinha Madureira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 21st minute, Edinho Godoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute, Wilian Perez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 27 minutes, Cesinha da Silveira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Laurentino da Gama and the São Vicente FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of São Vicente FC booed when Laurentino da Gama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesinha da Silveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wilian Perez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Augusto de Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafinha Mendes having to interfere. Wilian Perez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Rafinha Mendes made a huge save. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

52 minutes into the match, Augusto de Barros notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Laurentino da Gama's Rafinha Mendes. Rafinha Mendes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Rubens de Moraes kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Rafinha Mendes came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by São Vicente FC's Augusto de Barros. But to his dismay, Augusto de Barros quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Wilian Perez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th match minute, Laurentino da Gama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Fábio Meireles to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Augusto de Barros's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rafinha Mendes was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. Wilian Perez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 71st minute Augusto de Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafinha Mendes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wilian Perez in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rafinha Mendes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Umberto Meirelles in the 76th minute of play forced São Vicente FC's goalkeeper Rafinha Madureira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Augusto de Barros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Luís Gustavo Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot. São Vicente FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Gustavo Lopes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rafinha Mendes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Laurentino da Gama's Rafinha Mendes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilian Perez in the 84th minute of play. Augusto de Barros struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Rafinha Mendes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for São Vicente FC. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wilian Perez in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rafinha Mendes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Wilian Perez came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the São Vicente FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wilian Perez couldn't finish the play.
