The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 10 played minutes Polenta FC got a freekick which was hit by Beto Paraense. 12 minutes into the match, Polenta FC's goalkeeper Geovani da Silveira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcelo Ramalho. In the 17th minute, Válbson da Silva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Polenta FC's attack was well implemented in the 18th minute, but when Beto Paraense was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. When Marcelo Ramalho came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Red Nozes Football Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcelo Ramalho couldn't finish the play. Adriano Tavares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 24 minutes in the game, Adriano Tavares fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Geovani da Silveira having to interfere. After 26 played minutes Polenta FC got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Fernando Lopez. Válbson da Silva was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 26th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 28th minute, Adriano Tavares left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Red Nozes Football Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Adriano Tavares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Red Nozes Football Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Adriano Tavares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Geovani da Silveira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcelo Ramalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geovani da Silveira having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, Red Nozes Football Club's Adriano Tavares sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Geovani da Silveira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Polenta FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 41st minute, when Adriano Tavares scored to the left of an out of position Geovani da Silveira, making the score, 2-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pedrinho Mendonça in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jorginho Loureiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Marcelo Ramalho came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Red Nozes Football Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcelo Ramalho couldn't finish the play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Beto Paraense was the one to do the kick off. 61 minutes into the match, Pedrinho Mendonça had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jorginho Loureiro. Red Nozes Football Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pedrinho Mendonça was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Geovani da Silveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Haroldo Miranda in the 65th minute of the match. After having played for 70 minutes, Haroldo Miranda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Red Nozes Football Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Haroldo Miranda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Red Nozes Football Club's Adriano Tavares in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
