Laurentino da Gama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Umberto Paulista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Victor Zanette stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, AfrcBR's Tomé Nogueira got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Umberto Paulista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norberto Nunes having to interfere. In the 56th minute Umberto Paulista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norberto Nunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of AfrcBR booed when Laurentino da Gama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fábio Meireles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Norberto Nunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Umberto Meirelles, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 82nd minute Umberto Paulista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norberto Nunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edinho Silva couldn't finish the play. 85 minutes into the match, AfrcBR's goal looked a bit too open when Umberto Paulista came free, but Norberto Nunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 86th minute, Umberto Meirelles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in AfrcBR's zone, Umberto Meirelles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Norberto Nunes came out of the goal and Umberto Meirelles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Laurentino da Gama had played much better football throughout.
