In the 2nd minute Valdo Varela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Víktor Sergipano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luís Paulo Eger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Luís Paulo Eger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 14th match minute, Sabiuca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Serafim Porto to maneuver through the defense. In the 17thth minute of the game Valdo Varela who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sabiuca's Víktor Sergipano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Amauri Schmidt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sadettin Karacan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eusébio Medeiros in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 28th minute, Luís Paulo Eger left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The NAVY MARINERS S.E fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 31st minute Luís Paulo Eger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Víktor Sergipano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 33rd minute of the game. One of Sabiuca:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of NAVY MARINERS S.E:s goal. The referee gave NAVY MARINERS S.E a penalty, 34 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Haroldo de Barros, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Sabiuca's Víktor Sergipano. 0-2. Valdo Varela's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Víktor Sergipano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. NAVY MARINERS S.E's André Vergílio suffered a concussion after 41 minutes and had to leave the field. During the 41st minute of the match Serafim Porto completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Serafim Porto a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Sabiuca's Serafim Porto got a free kick in the 42nd minute. When Amauri Schmidt fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sabiuca's protests and gave Amauri Schmidt a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of NAVY MARINERS S.E booed when Sabiuca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amauri Schmidt didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Víktor Sergipano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luís Paulo Eger in the 53rd minute. When Valdo Varela came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the NAVY MARINERS S.E fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valdo Varela couldn't finish the play. Eusébio Medeiros hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. In the 60th minute, Haroldo de Barros fired a really elegant long shot, but Víktor Sergipano threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. Luís Paulo Eger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luís Paulo Eger struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Víktor Sergipano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for NAVY MARINERS S.E. Francisco de Queiroz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Víktor Sergipano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 76 played minutes Sabiuca got a freekick which was hit by Sandrinho Mendonça. If Luís Paulo Eger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Sabiuca's zone, Cláudio Souto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Víktor Sergipano came out of the goal and Cláudio Souto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Sabiuca's Víktor Sergipano got control of the ball when Luís Paulo Eger tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in NAVY MARINERS S.E's zone, Eusébio Medeiros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sadettin Karacan came out of the goal and Eusébio Medeiros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 86 minutes into the game, Valdo Varela was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. NAVY MARINERS S.E's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sabiuca the free kick. Valdo Varela kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Sadettin Karacan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abel Zonta, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. In the 91st minute, Cícero Dracena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luís Paulo Eger was extremely unlucky when he, in the 95th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. NAVY MARINERS S.E's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
