When the match clock showed 11 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Eusébio Medeiros sped through morungaba FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gernando Teles. Gernando Teles stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edvaldo Guedes's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. After a rather tough play, morungaba FC's Josué Madureira got a free kick in the 15th minute. When Eusébio Medeiros came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Sabiuca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eusébio Medeiros couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Eusébio Medeiros's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gernando Teles was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. The referee gave Sabiuca a penalty, 41 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Juarês Ramalho, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of morungaba FC's Gernando Teles. 0-2. A collision led to Sabiuca getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Amauri Schmidt hit a great ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fabinho Fontes to strike the kick off in the second half. Víktor Sergipano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Melo in the 53rd minute of play. 56 minutes into the match, Francisco Melo notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Sabiuca's Víktor Sergipano. Víktor Sergipano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Francisco Melo struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Víktor Sergipano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Francisco Melo during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 65th match minute, morungaba FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francisco Melo to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 80 minutes, Francisco Melo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. morungaba FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisco Melo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Sabiuca had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
