But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Noel Peres couldn't finish the play. In the 14th match minute, Travessos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Josué Silveira to maneuver through the defense. Júlio Quintal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Durvalino Lopez having to interfere. The supporters of Prensa booed when Travessos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josué Silveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Durvalino Lopez stood somewhat misplaced when Maurício do Nascimento came free in front of goal and shot 2-1 to the left of him in the 23 minute. Durvalino Lopez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júlio Quintal, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Noel Peres made the kick off in the second half. Durvalino Lopez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Júlio Quintal in the 54th minute of the match. Maurício do Nascimento might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Durvalino Lopez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Maurício do Nascimento put it in 4-2 from a short distance just to the right of Durvalino Lopez. Durvalino Lopez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marcos de Souza went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-2 was the resulting score. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Prensa fully deserved thier win.
