An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio de Mendonça in the 23rd minute of play forced Nova Santa Rosa FC's goalkeeper Benjamin Monteiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes into the game, Vivaldo Alvarenga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Luís Gustavo Fantini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Monteiro having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Nova Santa Rosa FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
