The supporters of Itaum booed when Ibitipora was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vitinho de Brito didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zé Paulo de Salles prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Vivaldo Vides came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Ibitipora fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vivaldo Vides couldn't finish the play. 66 minutes into the match, Itaum's Rafinha Goiano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Simão Sarmento narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fausto Monteiro in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zé Paulo de Salles saved Itaum from getting behind. In the 82nd minute, Rafinha Goiano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Zé Paulo de Salles made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Hortêncio Albuquerque sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Diamantino Perez during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 95th minute Fausto Monteiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Paulo de Salles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ibitipora's Fausto Monteiro was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 95th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Ibitipora's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
