Hugo de Souza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafinha Goiano in the 4th minute of the match. In the 8th minute, Nilson de Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Juvenal Koehler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Paulo de Salles having to interfere. Zé Paulo de Salles made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when André Luiz Berger sent off a good shot on target. André Luiz Berger might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zé Paulo de Salles. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. André Luiz Berger ran back to his position shaking his head. Hugo de Souza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nando Capixaba in the 16th minute of play. After 16 minutes, Benjamim Lopes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itapora SS and the Itaum players grew even worse after the yellow card. Benjamim Lopes kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the match, Itapora SS's goal looked a bit too open when Nando Capixaba came free, but Hugo de Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hugo de Souza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nando Capixaba, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. In the 21st minute, Rafinha Goiano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Itaum fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 27 minutes into the match, Itaum's Nando Capixaba sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hugo de Souza narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 28th match minute, Itapora SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamim Lopes to maneuver through the defense. Hugo de Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafinha Goiano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nando Capixaba's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hugo de Souza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Itaum's Nando Capixaba got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rafinha Goiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo de Souza having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Rafinha Goiano made a precise shot to the right of Hugo de Souza. Itapora SS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Hugo de Souza stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rafinha Goiano's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. André Luiz Berger might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zé Paulo de Salles. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. André Luiz Berger ran back to his position shaking his head. Nando Capixaba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Hugo de Souza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulo José Quadros kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Hugo de Souza was a little too slow when Nando Capixaba got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 72nd minute. The score was now 0-4. In the 91st minute Rafinha Goiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo de Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rafinha Goiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo de Souza having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Itaum left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Itapora SS.
