Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Raúl Paraibano took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 7 minutes, Evaristo Martins mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Varzedo and the Palmeiras Tem Mundial players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Varzedo getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Evaristo Martins hit a great ball. When Delfim França came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Varzedo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Delfim França couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Raúl Paraibano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varzedo's supporters rose to their feet, but Raúl Paraibano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Maria Ferreira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Dieguinho Mota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. João Adolfo de Barros charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. One of Palmeiras Tem Mundial:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Varzedo:s goal. The goalkeeper, José Maria Ferreira, was totally fooled by Varzedo's Delfim França, who 16 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. When Dieguinho Mota fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Varzedo's protests and gave Dieguinho Mota a yellow card for diving instead. In the 21st minute, Dieguinho Mota hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pedro Luiz Simões charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. José Maria Ferreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abelardo Antunes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Abelardo Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abelardo Antunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. José Maria Ferreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juvenal Maranhense blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without José Maria Ferreira having to make a save. Juvenal Maranhense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. José Maria Ferreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bernardinho da Cunha stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sérgio Mangueira might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over José Maria Ferreira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sérgio Mangueira ran back to his position shaking his head. Michel Costa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Fausto de Brito made a huge save. Michel Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. José Maria Ferreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Delfim França in the 64th minute of play. A collision led to Palmeiras Tem Mundial getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Angelo Vidal hit a great ball. Raúl Paraibano struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. José Maria Ferreira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Varzedo. Varzedo's Dieguinho Mota got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 76 minutes, Michel Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palmeiras Tem Mundial's supporters crossed their fingers, but Michel Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Raúl Paraibano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 81 minutes into the match, Delfim França had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of José Maria Ferreira. Palmeiras Tem Mundial's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Delfim França was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. José Maria Ferreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abelardo Antunes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. José Maria Ferreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Delfim França, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Varzedo's Abelardo Antunes got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Dieguinho Mota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th minute, Raúl Paraibano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Varzedo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Varzedo's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
