ABANDONEI O TIME's Raimundo Cavalcante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michel Costa in the 38th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in ABANDONEI O TIME's zone, Michel Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Raimundo Cavalcante came out of the goal and Michel Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bernardinho da Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bernardinho da Cunha to make the kick off. In the 88th minute Genílson Terra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Maria Ferreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
