Michel Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustavo Carioca having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michel Costa in the 25th minute of play forced Tamboral's goalkeeper Gustavo Carioca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th minute of the match João Adolfo de Barros shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gustavo Carioca showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. José Maria Ferreira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Virgílio Albuquerque in the 32nd minute. Virgílio Albuquerque's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 33rdth minute, José Maria Ferreira skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Lauro do Vale kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving José Maria Ferreira. That made the score 3-1 in the 39 minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Tamboral's Virgílio Albuquerque sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that José Maria Ferreira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Palmeiras Tem Mundial's zone, Lauro do Vale stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Maria Ferreira came out of the goal and Lauro do Vale tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lauro do Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Maria Ferreira having to interfere. In the 48thth minute of the game Lauro do Vale who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Palmeiras Tem Mundial's José Maria Ferreira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bernardinho da Cunha was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Lauro do Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tamboral's supporters rose to their feet, but Lauro do Vale was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Maria Ferreira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Palmeiras Tem Mundial getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Zé Pedro Chaves hit a great ball. In the 59th minute, Pedro Luiz Simões hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marquinhos Bastos took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 59th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for José Maria Ferreira. Palmeiras Tem Mundial's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With an all-out effort, Palmeiras Tem Mundial's Gustavo Carioca threw himself towards the right post 62 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bernardinho da Cunha, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After some careless play in the Palmeiras Tem Mundial defense, Lauro do Vale kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of José Maria Ferreira. The Palmeiras Tem Mundial fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José Maria Ferreira should have stopped the shot. If Bernardinho da Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Luiz Simões hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. When Virgílio Albuquerque came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Tamboral fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Virgílio Albuquerque couldn't finish the play. Lauro do Vale struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. José Maria Ferreira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tamboral. In the 94th minute Bernardinho da Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo Carioca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Virgílio Albuquerque sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Tamboral fans cheered their team off the field, for while Palmeiras Tem Mundial had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
