With an extended leg and a bit of luck Oswaldo Vander prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Róbson Abraão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Virgílio Sá, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 21st match minute, Queixo Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erasmo Quintal to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgílio Sá in the 24th minute of play forced Queixo Juniors's goalkeeper Róbson Abraão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Japaratinga's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldão de Salles came free, but Oswaldo Vander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
