Jânio Magalhães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Breno Peres, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. After a rather tough play, Sport Noia FC's Luiz Fernando de Alcântara got a free kick in the 20th minute. Sport Noia FC's Jânio Magalhães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinei Berger in the 26th minute of play. César Donatello's late challenge caught a Santos Dumont FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. César Donatello helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Santos Dumont FC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Erasmo Salgado hit a great ball. Dráuzio de Carvalho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Matheus Meireles having to make a save. Dráuzio de Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matheus Meireles having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, Dráuzio de Carvalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 44 played minutes Sport Noia FC got a freekick which was hit by Abel da Silva. In the 45th minute, Breno Peres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Breno Peres to make the kick off. Ruy Carneiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Jânio Magalhães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Breno Peres struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Jânio Magalhães didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Santos Dumont FC. In the 69th minute, Claudinei Berger fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Jânio Magalhães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Breno Peres in the 72nd minute of the match. In the 74th minute Reinaldo Sergipano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matheus Meireles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Santos Dumont FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
