After a defensive mix-up in Atletic Caldas Madri's zone, Ronaldão Tinoco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nico Eger came out of the goal and Ronaldão Tinoco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of FLAMENGO booed when Atletic Caldas Madri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex de Souza didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 52nd minute, Gláuber Costa sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Atletic Caldas Madri's Nico Eger didn't even have to move. If Ronaldão Tinoco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nico Eger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ademir Passos in the 70th minute of the match. 77 minutes into the match, Ademir Passos dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Nico Eger, 0-5. With a little luck, Atletic Caldas Madri's Nico Eger got control of the ball when Ronaldão Tinoco tried to sneak it across the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, FLAMENGO's Ademir Passos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nico Eger narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Atletic Caldas Madri getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Délio Trevisan hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Ronaldão Tinoco managed to get in a good position for a shot. FLAMENGO's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronaldão Tinoco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nico Eger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 88 minutes into the game, Ademir Passos recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nico Eger. Ademir Passos showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. Ademir Passos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nico Eger stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ademir Passos's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. The Atletic Caldas Madri fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FLAMENGO were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
