The supporters of Figueirense F.C booed when Bailique was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Durval Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bailique's Luís Paulo Costa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Bailique from getting a goal against them. 67 minutes into the game, João Carlos Arce was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Figueirense F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bailique the free kick. Bailique's Agnaldo Mendonça got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 76th minute, Agnaldo Mendonça left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bailique fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Bailique's Agnaldo Mendonça got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 85th minute, Bailique's Walmir Azevedo seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Walmir Azevedo the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Bailique protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Walmir Azevedo had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Bailique fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 84th minute. Penalty! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jerônimo Baiano in the 100th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paulinho Salles prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
