After 27 minutes, Mazinho Guerra mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Capeta FC and the Rio Branco E.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mazinho Guerra kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by João Paulo Hermes during the 35th minute. After a rather tough play, Rio Branco E.C.'s João Paulo Hermes got a free kick in the 35th minute. 38 minutes into the game, Juarês Furlan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Capeta FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rio Branco E.C. the free kick. In the 38th match minute, Capeta FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juarês Furlan to maneuver through the defense. Carlos Augusto de Senna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 70 played minutes Capeta FC got a freekick which was hit by Mazinho Guerra. Ronaldão Quirino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilton Barreto having to interfere. Juarês Furlan struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Nilton Barreto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Capeta FC. Ronaldão Quirino scored 4-1 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nilton Barreto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Juarês Furlan was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 89 minutes had been played. Juarês Furlan kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Capeta FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Rio Branco E.C. had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
