Pindorama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Remo Moreira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 10 minutes into the game, Pindorama's Remo Moreira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arthur Fonseca made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 13th minute Emerson Leite shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldo de Brito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Nilson de Queiroz came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Pindorama fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nilson de Queiroz couldn't finish the play. Arthur Fonseca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliézer Soeiro in the 42nd minute of play. Osvaldo de Brito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emerson Leite in the 96th minute of the match.
