Carlos Augusto de Senna struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Guo Yi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rio Branco E.C.. In the 11th minute Paulinho Sampaio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guo Yi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 13 minutes of play, Rio Branco E.C.'s Carlos Augusto de Senna made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Guo Yi was left in no man's land by his defense there! César Madureira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nilton Barreto having to make a save. Jeferson Vides's late challenge caught a Rio Branco E.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jeferson Vides helped the player get up and apologised. If Carlos Augusto de Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute, Carlos Augusto de Senna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 27th minute, Vascolino's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Carlos Augusto de Senna fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. João Paulo Hermes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If César Madureira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Augusto de Senna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Guo Yi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

After 52 played minutes Vascolino got a freekick which was hit by Jeferson Vides. Afonsinho Amorim, 53 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Carlos Augusto de Senna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guo Yi having to interfere. Guo Yi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Augusto de Senna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Vascolino getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Jeferson Vides hit a great ball. 64 minutes into the match, Vascolino's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Augusto de Senna came free, but Guo Yi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Vascolino's Sílvio Luís Mazza got a free kick in the 71st minute. In the 74th minute of the match Rio Branco E.C. got a corner. Vascolino's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Afonsinho Amorim ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Afonsinho Amorim got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Guo Yi quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The supporters of Rio Branco E.C. booed when Vascolino was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antônio Carlos Rosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jeferson Vides got free with Nilton Barreto in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 88 minutes, Carlos Augusto de Senna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rio Branco E.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Augusto de Senna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. César Madureira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
