The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes in the game, Gil Hermes fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Benê Prestes having to interfere. Osvaldo Ferreira kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Téo Alvarenga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Oscar Pernambucano fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S.C. The Trashmen's protests and gave Oscar Pernambucano a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, S.C. The Trashmen's Oscar Pernambucano got a free kick in the 10th minute. Anísio de Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Téo Alvarenga in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anísio Magalhães saved S.C. The Trashmen from getting behind. In the 14th minute Anísio de Castro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anísio Magalhães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edvaldo Quintal's late challenge caught a Crominia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edvaldo Quintal helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, S.C. The Trashmen's Edvaldo Quintal got a free kick in the 15th minute. S.C. The Trashmen's Anísio Magalhães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Téo Alvarenga in the 17th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Téo Alvarenga in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anísio Magalhães saved S.C. The Trashmen from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anísio de Castro in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anísio Magalhães prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marcinho Paes kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Anísio Magalhães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anísio de Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute of the match Diego Cavalcante shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Anísio Magalhães showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Gil Hermes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 30 minutes into the game, Gerson Munhoz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Crominia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.C. The Trashmen the free kick. A collision led to Crominia getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Gerson Munhoz hit a great ball. After some careless play in the S.C. The Trashmen defense, Anísio de Castro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Anísio Magalhães. The S.C. The Trashmen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Anísio Magalhães should have stopped the shot. Diego Cavalcante took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Anísio Magalhães. S.C. The Trashmen's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 47 played minutes S.C. The Trashmen got a freekick which was hit by Gil Hermes. After the first half Crominia were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anísio de Castro to make the kick off. Gil Hermes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 56th minute, Erik Paraibano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 58th minute, Téo Alvarenga fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 63 minutes into the match, Crominia's goal looked a bit too open when Gil Hermes came free, but Benê Prestes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gil Hermes hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Sydney de Godoi's late challenge caught a Crominia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sydney de Godoi helped the player get up and apologised. In the 69th match minute, S.C. The Trashmen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sydney de Godoi to maneuver through the defense. Anísio Magalhães made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anísio de Castro in the 78th minute. Sydney de Godoi got his second yellow card in the match during the 78th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Téo Alvarenga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anísio Magalhães read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. Benê Prestes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ismael Sanches, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 89 minutes of play, Crominia's Anísio de Castro made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Anísio Magalhães was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Oscar Pernambucano managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.C. The Trashmen's supporters rose to their feet, but Oscar Pernambucano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benê Prestes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 94th minute Ismael Sanches shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benê Prestes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Anísio de Castro came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Crominia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anísio de Castro couldn't finish the play. Crominia's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
