The supporters of Assungui EC booed when Real Brasil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gualter Salgado didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Assungui EC's Márcio de Castro in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Assungui EC's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tony Arantes in the 43rd minute of play forced Assungui EC's goalkeeper Maicon Jacinto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Márcio de Castro made a kick off. Maicon Jacinto was out of position in the 51 minute of play, and Tony Arantes capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tony Arantes really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. 55 minutes into the game, Ademar Barral was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Real Brasil's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Assungui EC the free kick. A collision led to Real Brasil getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Ademar Barral hit a great ball. Tony Arantes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Maicon Jacinto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 67 minutes into the game, Doni Souza was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Assungui EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Real Brasil the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Assungui EC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 66th minute. Penalty! Márcio de Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruninho Fonseca having to interfere. 78 minutes into the game, Assungui EC's Márcio de Castro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bruninho Fonseca made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Real Brasil's Gilberto Amorim got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tony Arantes might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Maicon Jacinto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tony Arantes ran back to his position shaking his head. Maicon Jacinto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tony Arantes in the 89th minute of the match. In the 95th minute Tony Arantes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maicon Jacinto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tony Arantes spun around in front of the goal 97 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Assungui EC's goal. When the match was over Real Brasil could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Assungui EC throughout the match.
