The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Emerson Coelho who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 4thth minute tested the skills of Francisco Neto when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 7th minute, Dráuzio Dante made a precise shot to the right of Christiano Cearense. Rio Paraíba Futebol Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Francisco Neto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emerson Coelho in the 11th minute. Francisco Neto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Jaibaras booed when Rio Paraíba Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emerson Coelho didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Jaibaras fans' excitement grew in the 30th match minute when Jaibaras's Dráuzio Dante looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Dráuzio Dante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Roger Lopes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dráuzio Dante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 41 minutes, Roger Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jaibaras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roger Lopes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Dráuzio Dante's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Christiano Cearense was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. Dráuzio Dante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Christiano Cearense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alex Costa made a kick off. In the 55th minute, Dráuzio Dante ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Christiano Cearense was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Dráuzio Dante's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 61stth minute, Christiano Cearense skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Rio Paraíba Futebol Clube's Christiano Cearense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Eduardo Azevedo in the 62nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Dráuzio Dante managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jaibaras's supporters rose to their feet, but Dráuzio Dante was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christiano Cearense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Christiano Cearense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dráuzio Dante, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. A collision led to Rio Paraíba Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Felippe Fernandez hit a great ball. Dráuzio Dante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dráuzio Dante in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Christiano Cearense saved Rio Paraíba Futebol Clube from getting behind. Dráuzio Dante struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Christiano Cearense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jaibaras. Dráuzio Dante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christiano Cearense having to interfere. 77 minutes into the match, Alex Costa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Francisco Neto. Jaibaras's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alex Costa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. Jaibaras's Sidnei Rezende was substituted for Gualter Fontes. With his leg Christiano Cearense managed to avoid a goal in the 82ndth minute, when Jaibaras's Dráuzio Dante fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Rio Paraíba Futebol Clube's Christiano Cearense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Rio Paraíba Futebol Clube from getting a goal against them. Christiano Cearense came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Jaibaras's Sidnei Rezende. But to his dismay, Sidnei Rezende quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. Flávio Trevisan kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Elivélton Neves struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Christiano Cearense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jaibaras. Jaibaras's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
