The audience was convinced that Teodoro Magalhães's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maicon Jacinto was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luiz Quadros made a kick off. When Orlando Garcia came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Assungui EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Orlando Garcia couldn't finish the play. Márcio de Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedito Barros having to interfere. Orlando Garcia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benedito Barros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Portaria Quase FC's goalkeeper Benedito Barros, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Assungui EC's Orlando Garcia got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Márcio de Castro in the 64th minute of play forced Portaria Quase FC's goalkeeper Benedito Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Luiz Quadros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Assungui EC's goalkeeper Maicon Jacinto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 71 played minutes Portaria Quase FC got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Quadros. After 74 minutes, Geovani Favoretto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Portaria Quase FC and the Assungui EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience held their breath when Doni Souza in the 76th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Benedito Barros's left hand side. 79 minutes into the match, Portaria Quase FC's goal looked a bit too open when Márcio de Castro came free, but Benedito Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Orlando Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 84th minute, Dráusio Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benedito Barros came out of the goal in the 97th minute to try and stop a shot by Assungui EC's Márcio de Castro. But to his dismay, Márcio de Castro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
