The Cara de Pau FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sadettin Tayman should have stopped the shot. Zézinho Carvalho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Sadettin Tayman made a huge save. After 27 minutes, Orlando Lopez made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Barra Mansa Futebol Clube's Emanuel Fantini tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Rubinho Domingues hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dalmo Montenegro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Orlando Lopez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Fantini having to interfere. In the 53rd minute Dalmo Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuel Fantini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Zézinho Carvalho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barra Mansa Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Zézinho Carvalho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sadettin Tayman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Barra Mansa Futebol Clube's zone, Orlando Lopez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emanuel Fantini came out of the goal and Orlando Lopez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 66th minute of the match Naldo Miranda shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sadettin Tayman showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to Barra Mansa Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Enéas Furlan hit a great ball. Dalmo Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 83rd minute Dalmo Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuel Fantini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Dalmo Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Cara de Pau FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dalmo Montenegro couldn't finish the play. The Barra Mansa Futebol Clube fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Cara de Pau FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
