Quixoa AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Flamengo the free kick. After 28 played minutes Quixoa AD got a freekick which was hit by Zé Carlos do Nascimento. After having played for 29 minutes, Marcus Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Flamengo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcus Alcântara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pedrinho Prado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raí de Lara having to interfere. Raí de Lara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manfredo Soares in the 46th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pedrinho Prado to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Eusébio Cabral managed to get in a good position for a shot. Quixoa AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Eusébio Cabral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Laércio Donatello breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcus Diniz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Raí de Lara read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. In the 80th minute, Eusébio Cabral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 87 minutes, Cesinha Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Flamengo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cesinha Sousa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Cesinha Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Flamengo's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
