Murilo Bertassi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abelardo do Nascimento came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Potiguara SS's Murilo Bertassi. But to his dismay, Murilo Bertassi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 11th minute, Eurico Queirós got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 14thth minute of the game Luís Paulo Porto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Potiguara SS's Joélson Falcão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Potiguara SS's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Paulo Porto came free, but Joélson Falcão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Potiguara SS's goalkeeper Joélson Falcão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eurico Queirós in the 30thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Joélson Falcão, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a rather tough play, Goiabal AD's Felippe Soares got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Pedro Luiz Rosado was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 33rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 36th minute, Váldson Trigo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Murilo Bertassi, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 37 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Abelardo do Nascimento was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Abelardo do Nascimento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Váldson Trigo in the 39th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Artur Lopes during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Goiabal AD booed when Potiguara SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artur Lopes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Váldson Trigo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Abelardo do Nascimento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

If Murilo Bertassi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Goiabal AD's Abelardo do Nascimento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joélson Pires in the 58th minute of play. Dieguinho Pontes kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luís Paulo Porto in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joélson Falcão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Váldson Trigo took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Abelardo do Nascimento to make any attempt to save it. If Murilo Bertassi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Delfim Amaral hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Goiabal AD's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Váldson Trigo 92 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-3. In the 96th minute of the match, Váldson Trigo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Abelardo do Nascimento saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When the final whistle sounded Potiguara SS left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Goiabal AD.
