But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Henrique Domingues couldn't finish the play. In the 13th match minute, Flamengo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcus Couto to maneuver through the defense. Pedrinho Prado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duarte de Lima having to interfere. Adalberto Viana hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Flamengo's goalkeeper Laércio Donatello, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. JOBSON FC's Henrique Domingues got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Flamengo's Glauco Cearense got a free kick in the 40th minute. After having played for 41 minutes, Henrique Domingues managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. JOBSON FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Henrique Domingues was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedrinho Prado in the 46th minute of play forced JOBSON FC's goalkeeper Duarte de Lima to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Henrique Domingues's late challenge caught a Flamengo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Henrique Domingues helped the player get up and apologised. Henrique Domingues hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Henrique Domingues managed to get in a good position for a shot. JOBSON FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Henrique Domingues was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Laércio Donatello breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. JOBSON FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
