Cacá Lago fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrique Donatello having to interfere. In the 25th minute João Augusto Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Natã Simão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dorival Dionísio hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Cacá Lago's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Henrique Donatello read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Mário Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot. PALMEIRAS's supporters rose to their feet, but Mário Rocha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Natã Simão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when João Augusto Martins stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mário Rocha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Mário Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hernani Carvalho might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Henrique Donatello. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hernani Carvalho ran back to his position shaking his head. Percy Linares hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Cacá Lago scored 1-0 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Henrique Donatello, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 71st match minute, Maceió AZP Crabs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amadeu Rocha to maneuver through the defense. PALMEIRAS's Henrique Donatello played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cacá Lago in the 75th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Augusto Martins in the 80th minute of play forced Maceió AZP Crabs's goalkeeper Natã Simão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mário Rocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Natã Simão having to interfere. Mário Rocha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Natã Simão made a huge save. Cacá Lago took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Henrique Donatello. Henrique Donatello dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. 88 minutes into the match, PALMEIRAS's goal looked a bit too open when Hernani Carvalho came free, but Henrique Donatello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Mário Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Natã Simão was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but João Augusto Martins showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 93 minute of play. PALMEIRAS's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
