After a defensive mix-up in PARANÁ CLUBE's zone, Serginho Damião stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felippe Penha came out of the goal and Serginho Damião tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Serginho Damião managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cachos's supporters rose to their feet, but Serginho Damião was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Felippe Penha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Caetano Meireles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar Loureiro having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Régis Mesquita put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Felippe Penha. Edgar Loureiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caetano Meireles in the 22nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Cachos's Doriva Baiano got a free kick in the 23rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Serginho Damião in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Felippe Penha saved PARANÁ CLUBE from getting behind. Régis Mesquita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felippe Penha having to interfere. Caetano Meireles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Edgar Loureiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

With his leg Felippe Penha managed to avoid a goal in the 55thth minute, when Cachos's Serginho Damião fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Lauro Palmeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar Loureiro having to interfere. In the 64th minute, Régis Mesquita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Felippe Penha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Régis Mesquita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Régis Mesquita received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Felippe Penha came out and tried to block the shot, but Régis Mesquita slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 76th minute. Serginho Damião sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cachos's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hélder Trigo in the 89th minute. Régis Mesquita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Felippe Penha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. Cachos's Júlio Marinho shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 94th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Felippe Penha but with some difficulty. Felippe Penha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Régis Mesquita in the 95th minute of the match. Marco Dracena charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marco Dracena the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 96 played minutes PARANÁ CLUBE got a freekick which was hit by Marco Dracena.
