Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Paulista United's Enéas Pirani started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With an all-out effort, Luckasianos's Luís Fabiano Mattos threw himself towards the right post 3 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Geraldo Zanette, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Paulista United's goalkeeper Luís Fabiano Mattos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Donato Moraes hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Geraldo Zanette recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luiz Paulo Tande might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luís Fabiano Mattos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luiz Paulo Tande ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 15th match minute, Paulista United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donato Moraes to maneuver through the defense. Luckasianos's Patrick Veloso shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 16th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Luís Fabiano Mattos but with some difficulty. Enéas Pirani struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Oscar Simão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paulista United. Geraldo Zanette fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fabiano Mattos having to interfere. In the 29th minute Enéas Pirani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oscar Simão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Osmar Donato sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luckasianos's Oscar Simão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enéas Pirani in the 35th minute of play. In the 36th minute, Valdo Valladares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 39th minute of the match Paulista United got a corner. Luckasianos's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Betinho Macedo ran over to the corner to take the kick. If Geraldo Zanette had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Geraldo Zanette fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fabiano Mattos having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Geraldo Zanette to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Benjamim Netto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paulista United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Luckasianos the free kick. After a rather tough play, Paulista United's Benjamim Netto got a free kick in the 54th minute. Oscar Simão made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Osmar Donato sent off a good shot on target. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Paulista United's goalkeeper Luís Fabiano Mattos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Osmar Donato might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Oscar Simão. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gugu Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oscar Simão having to interfere. Luiz Paulo Tande ran back to his position shaking his head. 85 minutes into the game, Luckasianos's Geraldo Zanette nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luís Fabiano Mattos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Geraldo Zanette managed to get in a good position for a shot. Luckasianos's supporters rose to their feet, but Geraldo Zanette was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luís Fabiano Mattos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Geraldo Zanette received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Luís Fabiano Mattos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 91 played minutes Paulista United got a freekick which was hit by Donato Moraes. Donato Moraes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oscar Simão having to interfere.
