Eliézer Mendonça ran back to his position shaking his head. Marcelo Sá made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvaldo Varela in the 46th minute of play. After the first half É osguri were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

A collision led to Baete getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Hugo Lopez hit a great ball. In the 95th minute, Basílio Vidal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, É osguri's Ronaldo de Sousa tried to score from far away in the 95th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. É osguri's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
