Luisão de Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walmyr Vinhas in the 27th minute of the match. If Isidoro Bordat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 31st minute, Walmyr Vinhas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Flamute FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Pech Futebol Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Flamute FC the free kick. Chiquinho Gaúcho kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Túlio Romero took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 46th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gilson da Fonseca. Flamute FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Chiquinho Gaúcho was the one to do the kick off. Isidoro Bordat's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luisão de Mendonça read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. In the 56th minute, Walmyr Vinhas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 58 minutes into the match, Flamute FC's goal looked a bit too open when Chiquinho Gaúcho came free, but Gilson da Fonseca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 60th minute of the match, Walmyr Vinhas tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Luisão de Mendonça saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Gilson da Fonseca came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Pech Futebol Clube's Kiko Camargo. But to his dismay, Kiko Camargo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. If Walmyr Vinhas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Walmyr Vinhas took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Luisão de Mendonça to make any attempt to save it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Walmyr Vinhas in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luisão de Mendonça saved Pech Futebol Clube from getting behind. Chiquinho Gaúcho was shown his second yellow card after 85 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Flamute FC made a substitution. Zé Pedro Cunha replaced William Quintal. A collision led to Pech Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Chiquinho Gaúcho hit a great ball. When Flamute FC's Walmyr Vinhas in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pech Futebol Clube's goalie prevented a goal. The audience was convinced that Walmyr Vinhas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luisão de Mendonça was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. The Pech Futebol Clube fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Flamute FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
