An unexpectedly hard shot by Chiquinho Gaúcho in the 11th minute of play forced Pinhais FC's goalkeeper Paulo Zonta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Guilherme Damião had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th match minute, Pinhais FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edson Vieira to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Pinhais FC's zone, Guilherme Damião stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Zonta came out of the goal and Guilherme Damião tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 34 minutes, Róbson Catarinense mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pinhais FC and the Pech Futebol Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Pinhais FC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Róbson Catarinense hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guilherme Damião in the 35th minute of play forced Pinhais FC's goalkeeper Paulo Zonta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chiquinho Gaúcho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paulo Zonta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Pinhais FC's Paulo Zonta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chiquinho Gaúcho in the 41st minute of play. When Róbson Catarinense was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 42 minutes had been played. Túlio Romero went to the cornerflag to take it. A very nice done corner allowed Deivid Meirelles to score against Paulo Zonta in Pinhais FC's goal. 1-2 after 46 minutes.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Chiquinho Gaúcho to strike the kick off in the second half. Chiquinho Gaúcho in the 53rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Paulo Zonta, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The supporters of Pech Futebol Clube booed when Pinhais FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evandro Guerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. 85 minutes into the match, Pech Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Edgard Soares came free, but Luisão de Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Túlio Romero charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Túlio Romero the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 90th minute, Rogério Trevisan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luisão de Mendonça was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-5. The Pech Futebol Clube supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Pech Futebol Clube would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
