The supporters of Trainspotting booed when Cotinguiba AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vítor Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sandrinho Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinei Mendes having to interfere. Antônio Arce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 32 played minutes Trainspotting got a freekick which was hit by Gilvan Rossi. Antônio Arce recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cotinguiba AD's Rafa Marinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilvan Rossi in the 38th minute of play. Rafa Marinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Deivid da Mata in the 44th minute of play. After 47 played minutes Trainspotting got a freekick which was hit by Gilvan Rossi. After the first half Trainspotting were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Antônio Arce made a kick off. Joaquim de Queiroz came free with the goalkeeper in the 56th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Rafa Marinho could save by the left post. Rafa Marinho made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Joaquim de Queiroz sent off a good shot on target. Joaquim de Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafa Marinho having to interfere. The supporters of Trainspotting booed when Cotinguiba AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Renato Severo didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Alan Carioca fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cotinguiba AD's protests and gave Alan Carioca a yellow card for diving instead. Rafa Marinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antônio Arce, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. In the 83rd minute, Gino Eger reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rafa Marinho. The goal made the score 0-4. With a little luck, Cotinguiba AD's Rafa Marinho got control of the ball when Gino Eger tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Joaquim de Queiroz could shoot a difficult shot in the 91st minute, which Rafa Marinho however easily saved by the left post. Joaquim de Queiroz struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Rafa Marinho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Trainspotting. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Gilvan Rossi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Trainspotting's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilvan Rossi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rafa Marinho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Cotinguiba AD fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Trainspotting were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
