But to his dismay, Ronaldo Secco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Alberto Guerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yasin Juanda having to interfere. Ronaldo Secco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alberto Guerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rui Proença's late challenge caught a Bristol Rovers FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rui Proença helped the player get up and apologised. Alessandro Galvão succeeded in the game's 28th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. Aírton Bertassi charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aírton Bertassi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ronaldo Secco struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Yasin Juanda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Corinthians.
