But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abelardo Rosa couldn't finish the play. Jonas Paiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Rafa Marinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rafa Marinho made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Luís Albuquerque sent off a good shot on target. In the 11th minute, Jonas Paiva made a precise shot to the right of Rafa Marinho. Cotinguiba AD's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Jonas Paiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafa Marinho having to interfere. In the 17th minute, Sidney Proença hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 26 minutes into the match, Cotinguiba AD's goalkeeper Rafa Marinho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luís Albuquerque. Cotinguiba AD's Rafa Marinho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Cotinguiba AD from getting a goal against them. After 34 minutes, Renato Severo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cotinguiba AD and the MotoSerra FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The crowd rose to their feet as Jonas Paiva kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rafa Marinho. That made the score 2-0 in the 44 minute of play. During the 47th minute of the match Renato Severo completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Renato Severo a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 48th match minute, Cotinguiba AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Renato Severo to maneuver through the defense. Luís Albuquerque's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rafa Marinho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 49th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sandrinho Silva to make the kick off. After 53 played minutes Cotinguiba AD got a freekick which was hit by Osvaldo Loyola. 55 minutes into the match, MotoSerra FC's Jonas Paiva sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rafa Marinho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Cotinguiba AD's Alan Carioca got a free kick in the 59th minute. In the 61st minute, Jonas Paiva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 64 minutes into the match, Cotinguiba AD's goal looked a bit too open when Guto do Vale came free, but Rafa Marinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonas Paiva in the 66th minute of play forced Cotinguiba AD's goalkeeper Rafa Marinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luís Albuquerque in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rafa Marinho saved Cotinguiba AD from getting behind. 71 minutes into the match, Luís Albuquerque notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Cotinguiba AD's Rafa Marinho. Rafa Marinho was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Rafa Marinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abelardo Rosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luís Albuquerque in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rafa Marinho saved Cotinguiba AD from getting behind. In the 91st minute Guto do Vale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafa Marinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonas Paiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafa Marinho having to interfere. Pedro Paulo Alcântara kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. MotoSerra FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
